Climbing
The Climbing Club was formed in 2000 and is open to boys in Grades 6 and 7. Each year, trials are held on our climbing wall and the eight most proficient climbers in each grade are invited to join the club. These boys train once a week on the school climbing wall and they enjoy regular outings to local crags such as Lakeside Pinnacle and Silvermine.
Once a year the club goes on an expedition to the Cederberg and trips to Bumslide Rock and Montagu are always popular; the town offers some of the finest climbing in the Western Cape and the boys always enjoy evenings at the hot springs.
The boys learn belaying, leading, rope ascent, descent and other rope skills, all in the very capable and vastly experienced hands of Mr Howell. Other activities include caving, abseiling and geocaching.
